About VidNo
The AI video pipeline built for creators who code.
What VidNo Does
VidNo is a local-first AI video pipeline that turns raw screen recordings into fully produced YouTube videos. You record your coding session, and VidNo handles everything else: script generation, voice cloning, smart editing, thumbnail creation, YouTube Shorts, and automatic upload to your channel.
The entire pipeline runs on your machine. Your code, your recordings, and your voice data never leave your local environment. The only external call is to the Claude API for script generation, which receives only OCR text and git diffs -- not your source code or raw footage.
Why We Built This
Most developers never start a YouTube channel. Not because they lack knowledge -- they have more expertise than 99% of content creators. They stop at the editing step. Recording a 40-minute coding session is straightforward. Turning it into a tight, narrated, 8-minute tutorial takes 4 to 6 hours of manual work. That ratio kills motivation.
VidNo eliminates the editing bottleneck entirely. One command takes your raw recording and produces a finished video with scripted narration in your cloned voice, intelligent cuts, chapter markers, thumbnails, and a YouTube Short -- all uploaded and scheduled on your channel.
Our Approach
VidNo is not a generic video editor with an AI label. It was designed from the ground up for one specific workflow: converting developer screen recordings into educational YouTube content. Every component in the pipeline -- from OCR-based code understanding to git-diff-aware script generation -- exists because developers need tools that understand code, not just pixels.
The Pipeline
- OCR + Git Diff Analysis -- reads what is on screen and understands what code changed
- Claude API Scripting -- generates technically accurate narration based on what actually happened
- Voice Cloning -- synthesizes narration in your voice from a 60-second training sample
- FFmpeg Pipeline -- handles cuts, transitions, zoom effects, and audio sync
- Thumbnail Generation -- creates code-focused thumbnails designed for click-through
- YouTube Shorts -- produces vertical short-form clips optimized for the Shorts feed
- YouTube API Upload -- publishes with auto-generated title, description, tags, and chapters
Who VidNo Is For
VidNo is built for anyone who wants to create YouTube content from screen recordings without spending hours editing. That includes solo developers building an audience, DevRel teams producing tutorial content at scale, open source maintainers explaining their projects visually, indie hackers using build-in-public videos as marketing, and educators creating course material from live coding sessions.
